Ward
In his ‘Ward' series, artist Hussain Alismail showcases a fresh perspective that goes beyond his usual approach, which typically features continuous-line drawing along with black and red colors.
This collection sees Alismail experimenting with different materials, colors, and techniques. The pieces include collage, mixed media, three-dimensional sculptures, and video components.
Alismail considers the 'rose' as a common symbol that brings people together despite various differences. A notable contribution to this symbolism from Saudi art is the song 'Wardak Ya Zare' al-Ward' by the iconic singer Talal Madah, recognized as the first poetic song in Saudi music. This song is known for its meaningful and delicate nature, conveying straightforward ideas without favoring any particular region or dialect. According to Dr. Khalid Al-Dakhil, this song has influenced the development of modern Saudi music.
